Trained since age four as a “triple threat” musical theatre performer, Amber has studied and worked with Tony Award-winning dance greats, including Bill T. Jones, Jerry Mitchell, and the late Gregory Hines. She is an alumna of North Atlanta High School for the Performing Arts, The School at Jacob’s Pillow, Broadway Theatre Project, the scholarship program at Steps on Broadway, and The William Esper Studio.
Amber was an original company member of Broadway’s Legally Blonde: The Musical. Through Blonde, she performed on the Emmy-nominated “MTV presents Legally Blonde on Broadway,” NBC’s “The TODAY Show,” ABC’s “The View,” the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the production’s original cast album and its first national tour, and received an Actors’ Equity Association Advisory Committee on Chorus Affairs Award.
Beyond Broadway, Amber’s credits include The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, They’re Playing Our Song, The Seven, Damn Yankees, Dreamgirls, Comedy Central, HBO’s Show Me a Hero, NBC’s The Mysteries of Laura, and Wes Craven’s My Soul to Take. She has also performed at Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, and during the ceremonies of the Olympic Games.
Amber has taught musical theatre and hip hop dance at The School at Steps on Broadway and for Theatre Direct/Broadway Classroom and the National Black Arts Festival’s Children’s Education Village. Her dance-based fitness programs for children and young adults have been featured by MSNBC, Nike, Coca-Cola, CRUNCH, XM Radio, Reader’s Digest, fitness, and SELF.
